Market Update Q3 2023

View
Assuming the new National Government keep their word and scrap the clean car discount we can be certain that volumes of EV cars will rise prior to its scrapping, and conversely, that Ute registrations will hold off, pending a significant rise when the Ute tax is removed.
In a year littered with meteorological storms it seems fitting that the perfect storm of tax changes, cost-of-living crisis and the looming election have dropped new passenger and light commercial registrations down to a near all-time low. Quarter 3, 2023 saw just under
27,000 new passenger and light commercial vehicles registered. The average, post Covid, new vehicle registrations have been around 39,000 so the Q3 result seems very low.
